With so many facets, I often have trouble introducing myself. Whether you meet me as Jewels, Flaming Jewel, or Julie Ziff Sint, I am excited to share many experiences with you.

As a yoga teacher, I aim to blend spirituality with playfulness and emphasize body awareness to promote alignment and balance. In vinyasa classes, I choreograph long and unusual sequences. In hatha classes, I invite philosophy into asana. I began teaching yoga in 2009 and am deeply grateful to so many inspirational teachers from different traditions.

I completed yoga teacher trainings at Sankalpah in New York with Isaac Pena, Mary Dana Abbott, and Jude English and at Rishikesh Yog Peeth in India with Krishna Sikhwal and Roshan Singh, as well as Ma Yoga pre-natal training in New York with Mia Borgatta and Eden Fromberg. I am Yoga Alliance E-RYT-200, RYT-500 Certified. My yoga practice is complemented with studies in Thai bodywork and Buddhist meditation, both with teachers from the west and the east.

I have performed and taught flow and circus arts since 2006, particularly hoop, flag, and fire dancing. I prefer treating my tools as dance partners instead of getting mired in technical spinning, and love it when students and audience are enthusiastic to play with me. Several years ago, I co-created Hoop Vinyasa, in which we use hula hoops as tools to expand and deepen our yoga practice.

However, during business hours (and then some), I focus on fundraising and marketing for nonprofit organizations. Currently the Vice President of Account and Strategic Services for Sanky Communications, I have nearly twenty years of experience in the nonprofit sector. My background spans digital fundraising, integrated direct marketing, website strategy, bridge and major gifts fundraising, special events, and media relations.

Prior to my role overseeing the account team at Sanky Communications, I served as the Associate Development Director at Transportation Alternatives, as Senior Account Executive at Sanky Communications, and as the Manager of the bridge/mid-level giving program (the Catalyst Circle) at Environmental Defense Fund. I have worked on a variety of other causes, including being a member of the Board of Directors and serving as Communications Director for Figment Project.
